About Stephen

Stephen Bulzomi earned his Juris Doctorate degree from Seattle University School of Law in 1985, graduating with honors. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Washington in 1981. He is licensed to practice in both the state of Washington and the state of Oregon.

With more than 37 years of experience practicing law, Stephen is well-respected in the legal community. Stephen participates in several legal organizations, including Washington State Association for Justice, where he has served on the Board of Governors since 1998 and acted as President in 2013-2014. He is also associated with the Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association, Washington Bar Association, Oregon State Bar Association, American Association for Justice, Damage Attorney’s Roundtable, American Board of Trial Advocates and Million Dollar Advocates Forum.

Recognized as one of the best trial lawyers in Washington, Washington Law and Politics has listed Stephen as a “Super Lawyer” since 2000. Martindale Hubbell, a peer rating organization, rates Stephen “A/V,” the highest possible award for performance and ethics. He has also been selected by fellow lawyers to be included in The Best Lawyers of America for personal injury litigation.

Stephen is respected for his experience at trial and in appellate courts. His appellate successes include precedent setting decisions involving drug manufacturer liability, insurance law, alcohol liability and negligent hiring and retention. He has obtained multimillion dollar settlements and verdicts in cases involving automobile collisions, medical negligence, product liability, government liability and more.

Stephen’s passion for fairness and justice is not limited to his legal practice. He has worked tirelessly in the political arena to preserve access to justice for injury victims and their families. He testifies at legislative hearings on bills that would further victimize those who are injured by the fault of others. Stephen also lectures regularly at Continuing Legal Education Programs, regarding personal injury trial practice methods and strategies.

Born and raised in Seattle, Stephen is married to Linda Hodgkinson, with whom he has two adult children. Stephen spends his spare time rooting for the Husky Football team, golfing, bicycling and spending time with his family.
