About Gemma

Gemma Zanowski received her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Arizona’s James E. Rogers College of Law in 2010, graduating cum laude. She earned her undergraduate degrees in Journalism and Psychology from the University of Arizona, graduating summa cum laude in 2007.

Prior to joining Evergreen Personal Injury Counsel, Gemma served as the judicial law clerk for Kitsap County Superior Court Judges Jay B. Roof, Jeanette Dalton, Jennifer Forbes and Sally F. Olsen from 2012-2014. She also completed a fellowship with the Northwest Justice Project where she assisted low and no-income individuals with Medicare and Disability claims.

Gemma has been selected and honored as a “Rising Star” by Washington Super Lawyers from 2016-2018. She was also recognized with the “Ready to Soar New Lawyer Award” from the Washington State Association for Justice in 2015, and the “Distinguished Service by a New Attorney Award” from the Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association in 2014.

Gemma is the Chair of the Washington State Bar Association Animal Law Section and serves on the board of directors. She is also a member of the Washington State Association for Justice New Members Committee and the CLE Committee. In addition to her involvement in the legal community, Gemma is an advocate for animal rights. She is an officer with the Board of Directors for the Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County. She also volunteers her time with Seattle Purebred Dog Rescue’s Doberman division.

Along with her dedication to animal law, Gemma’s legal practice focuses on representing folks who have been injured in car crashes, suffered spine injuries with surgical treatment, or who have been injured by the negligence of a business or corporation. Gemma is not afraid to take on sensitive-injury cases, and she is particularly passionate about advocating for female clients who have suffered injuries that may be uniquely personal or sensitive in nature.

Outside her legal practice, Gemma is an active adventurer. She enjoys spending her free time with her favorite adventure partner, running, hiking and biking in the great Pacific Northwest outdoors or hunting down new breakfast spots together on the weekends. She lives in Tacoma and shares her home with three Doberman pinschers, all adopted from local rescues and shelters.
