Jennifer Sciola, our wonderful Senior Litigation Paralegal, has retired. She has been a critical asset to our firm. To celebrate her career with EPIC, we’d like to look back on her journey as an important part of our team.
With 16 years of service in the US Air Force, and a member of the Washington State Association for Justice, Jennifer worked with soldiers and military members returning from the Vietnam War. She was selected to participate in “Operation Baby Lift,” where the US brought orphans from Vietnam to the US. From that experience, she became certain that she wanted to help injured individuals, and make a career of it.
Jennifer admits that starting out at EPIC, she was inexperienced with not only personal injury work but also civilian practice. However, thanks to the dedication and hard work of our attorneys and staff, Jennifer was able to see cases, that she played a part in, put together like “an orchestrated play.” With these experiences, Jennifer grew skills such as compassion, empathy and patience for each client.
Jennifer advises anyone interested in law to:
“Do your homework and interview legal professionals in various specialties. See some trials in the fields that interest you. Make sure that you find something that you are passionate about.”
The energy that she brings to her work is something that will be deeply missed around the office.
With Jennifer’s free time, she now plans to volunteer with the Human Society. With her dog, Guiseppe in tow, she wants to make time for daily workouts, and create a routine.
“The sky’s the limit, so I am excited to see what the future brings,” she says.
Jennifer has been an essential, valued, and precious member of the EPIC team.
Enjoy your retirement, Jennifer!
