NPR ran a story this week on an article published by the American Academy of Pediatrics which “strongly” discourages kids to use trampoline parks. I couldn’t agree more.
Trampolines can be fun, but also extremely dangerous. Its not a surprise the creating a park with wall to wall trampolines only exponentially increases the risk of injury. The consequences of injury on any trampoline are high. Neck injuries are not uncommon. This seems to be confirmed by the 12 fold increase in trampoline injuries credited to trampoline parks.
If you are thinking about visiting a trampoline park, please consider the risk of injury that goes with it. This is especially true with kids.
