“Everybody can be great . . . because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.” -Dr. Martin Luther King
The Tree House is MultiCare’s family housing complex located in the historic Frances Apartments within steps from Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital in Tacoma. It offers families the ability to stay near their child while their child battles a serious illness or injury in the hospital. The nightly rate at the Tree House is only $40 and no family is ever turned away due to an inability to pay.
Offering parents and families a nurturing, restful environment that lets them focus on their loved one is why Evergreen Personal Injury Counsel supports the Tree House. Evergreen Personal Injury Counsel does not believe that a donating of money is enough. In September, Evergreen Personal Injury Counsel began sponsoring and serving meals for the families staying at the Tree House. In that short period of time, more than 60 hours of service has been donated to the Tree House and there are many more to come.
Just last night, Debi, Vickie, and I were able to serve the families at the Tree House and hopefully provide them with some support through difficult times. Below is a picture of Debi and Vickie showing off the fruits of their labor.
In the words of Dr. Martin Luther King: Evergreen Personal Injury Counsel, you are great. You have a heart full of grace and a soul generated by love. You serve.
